In Setswana, Kotsi means danger. Few animals demonstrate the word more convincingly than the hippopotamus. During the heat of the day it may appear almost serene, half-submerged in water. After dark, however, it emerges to feed, moving through the same landscape used by people and livestock.
In Botswana, the message is simple: water gives life, but it must also be respected.
