Collection: The Heritage Collection
The Heritage Collection is a celebration of the wildlife, landscapes and cultures that have shaped the photographer's journeys across Africa and India.
Each photograph is paired with a name drawn from a language connected to the place in which the animal was encountered—from Shona and Swahili to Runyankore-Rukiga, Setswana, Khoekhoegowab, Otjiherero and Sanskrit-derived Hindi. These names are more than translations. They introduce ideas of memory, hope, wisdom, peace, danger, dreams and strength—qualities that have long connected people with the natural world around them.
The stories accompanying the photographs draw on local traditions, language, history and conservation knowledge, while recognising that wildlife has meaning far beyond the moment in which it is photographed. An elephant carries the memory of generations; a tiger can become a symbol of the forest itself; a leopard can represent courage; and a young cheetah can embody hope for the future.
Together, the twelve photographs form a journey through Africa and India, celebrating not only the animals themselves, but the enduring relationship between wildlife, people, culture and place.
Ten percent of proceeds from the sale of prints from the Heritage Collection will be donated to wildlife conservation projects, helping to ensure that the heritage represented in these photographs has a future as well as a past.
