Vanraj evokes the ancient image of the tiger as king of the forest. In India, the tiger has long occupied a place between fear, respect and reverence.
Hindu tradition associates the tiger with Durga, while the Mahābhārata expresses an idea that sounds remarkably modern: the forest protects the tiger, and the tiger protects the forest.
To see one is therefore to see more than a predator—it is to glimpse a symbol of the forest itself.
